Dear visitor, would you like to add your telephone number if you have a question for us? It sometimes happens that a typo creeps into the email address, which unfortunately means we cannot answer you. (Telephone numbers are used for that reason only).
How do you get to our B&B de Tulip?
By car:
By car through Denmark and over the bridges/tunnel
If you prefer not to take the ferry, there is the option to travel via the fixed river connections in Denmark and between Denmark and Sweden. Assuming that the route to be taken is the same as the route described above via the ferry services, you will drive via the bridges on average 1 hour longer and approximately 150 km detour. Please note that tolls must be paid for both bridges. For the Storebelt bridge you pay approximately 35 euros and for the Öresund bridge approximately 45 euros per crossing.
By ferry and over the Öresund Bridge
You can also take the ferry from Puttgarden to Rödby and then over the Our experience is that the fastest crossing is a combination of both. We always take the Puttgarden – Rödby ferry and the Öresund bridge. This is generally the fastest.
Night ferry Kiel (D) – Gothenburg (S)
This ferry is the most relaxed and our preference, but it is also the most expensive. If you book this, book it via StenaLine.se, this will quickly save you hundreds of euros. You leave Kiel/Germany in the evening (weekdays +/- 5 p.m. and weekends +/- 7 p.m.) and arrive in Gothenburg rested the next morning around 9 a.m. From here it is another 3.5 hours’ drive to Deje. You must book this crossing in advance with Stenaline, remember to also book dinner and breakfast, which are often included in the low season.
Ferry services Puttgarden (D) – Rödby (DK) and Helsingör (DK) – Helsingborg (S)
These crossings are the traditional ferry services between Germany and Denmark and between Denmark and Sweden. These crossings can be a bit busier during the high season and cause waiting times. It is not really necessary to book in advance because the waiting times are rarely longer than an hour because the departure times are every half hour. The crossing from Puttgarden to Rödby takes 45 minutes and can be combined with lunch on board, shopping or enjoying the view on the sun deck. The crossing between Helsingör and Helsingborg takes only 20 minutes. From there it is a 6-7 hour journey to our houses. If it is known when the return journey home is, it is useful to order a “Schwedenticket über Helsingborg” in Puttgarden, this is a ticket for both crossings and possibly as a return ticket (this saves time at check-in). For exact prices, please visit the Scandlines.com website
By airplane:
You can fly from Amsterdam to the airports of Gothenburg, Stockholm or Oslo, although Gothenburg is our preference because of the good train connection. From the airport it is possible to rent a car or travel to Karlstad by train. From Karlstad you can travel to Förby by bus or it is possible for us to pick you up there for a fee.

Bring your dog to Sweden
Vaccination against rabies
The dog or cat must have been vaccinated against rabies with a vaccine approved by the WHO and any revaccinations must have been carried out according to the instructions of the vaccine manufacturer (note the validity!). The vaccination is not necessary for animals imported directly from Great Britain or Ireland.
This vaccination can only take place when the dog or cat is at least 12 weeks old. After vaccination, you must wait another 21 days before your dog or cat can enter Sweden.
Identification by means of a microchip
The dog or cat must be identifiable using a microchip (preferably ISO standard). If your dog or cat has a microchip that does not meet the ISO standard, you must provide your own reading equipment.
Pet passport
Documentation is required in the form of a passport in which the recognized veterinarian in the country of origin has recorded all necessary measures.
Duty to report to customs
When entering Sweden with your dog(s) and/or cat(s), you are required to report at the border and present all required documents. This can be arranged in advance online. So you don’t have to stop at the border for this.
Is the dog allowed to run free?
Dogs must be on a leash from March 1 to August 20. Outside this period, dogs are allowed to run free, provided you have full control of the dog.
Any exceptions to the above are laid down in local regulations.
